Embark on a mystical journey in "Fish & Chip" where the sands of time flow with secrets and adventures. Cast your line into the dunes, typing your way through challenges to catch the elusive desert fish in a world where magic replaces water.

Details: In a realm where the oceans have turned to sand, fishing has taken an enchanted twist. Players assume the role of a legendary Desert Fisher, using their typing skills to catch mystical fish hidden beneath the sands. With each catch, uncover lore, unlock secrets, and traverse through an ever-changing desert landscape.

Gameplay Mechanics: Players use the keyboard to type words and phrases that appear on-screen to cast their fishing line and reel in fish. The game combines elements of typing games with fishing mechanics.

Visuals and Sound: The game features a vibrant, dynamic desert environment that shifts from dawn to dusk, with stunning visual effects for sand whirlpools and magical fish. The soundtrack blends traditional desert melodies with whimsical tunes, enhancing the mystical fishing experience.

 Genre: Adventure Typing Puzzle Fantasy

The game was built by chip, david, holy, nezt50, retornodomal, archandroid and KBVE using Phaser engine with Astro, React, TailwindCSS and a couple other libraries.

Additional credit to the base tilemap data and placeholder assets from FinalBossBlues and Annoraaq. Majority of the original assets were redesigned and repurposed to fit the sandy theme!

The main protag aka Chip was hand drawn and then pixelated by the time! They did amazing work! The Phaser engine made the mini rpg and minigames a breeze to create, you can find majority of the work done within our monorepo. While this game was for the jam, we might work on it a bit more after the jam and maybe turn it into a full game!
